In my series photograph, SMALL-huge, I create a miniature world that is full of imagination and is different from reality. While making this series, I can escape from reality and enjoy the fantasy. I want the audience to see more possibilities from our daily life, so I choose to use the daily objects and make these playful scenes to remind the audience don’t lose the imagination they have when they are children. In SMALL-huge, I place a lot of tinny figures, such as human figures and animal ones, with the foods in the original scale to confuse the real scale of the objects. In most of the photos, I make the color paper to be the background. In SMALL-huge: SMALL town, I place a blue color gel to the background, so its white reflection on its surface can be the cloud in the sky. I transfer the foods into different things. For instance, I paint broccoli pink and place the human figures around it, so the broccoli becomes a pink tree in the photo. After my peers inspire me by showing Tanaka Tatsuya’s artworks, I push my artworks further; I put the bubble paper over the blue background, so the paper’s reflection gives the background the texture of waves in the ocean.
In SMALL-huge, I want to depict that the world is no longer funny is because adults abandon their imagination, give up the right to see the world from different angles, and limited by the knowledge they learn.

In my series photograph, "SMALL-huge," I create a miniature world that is full of imagination. Also, I make a zine book so that the audience can funnily interact with the miniature world. This video shows how I interact with the book.
